The Cotswold area is slightly southeast of Uptown and centers around Cotswold Mall and also includes several business parks. The residential area is comprised mostly of established neighborhoods such as Sherwood Forest and Randolph Park, as well as some newer construction such as Wendover Hill and the luxurious Rosewood at Providence condominium.
The SouthPark area is just six miles from the Uptown area and is centered around SouthPark Mall, the largest mall in the Charlotte area. The area is also one of the most prominent business districts in the entire state. The SouthPark Mall also hosts the Charlotte Symphony’s Summer Pops series. The residential sections of SouthPark are a mix of established neighborhoods, such as Barclay Downs, Beverly Woods, Sharon Woods, Foxcroft and Morrocroft Estates and newer construction single family and condominiums such as Piedmont Row, Morrison Condominiums and Southgate on Fairview.
Still further south is the Ballantyne area, developed on what used to be the Morrison hunting preserve, a 2,000 acre site. Ballantyne is a city within a city and contains major business parks, retail shopping centers and residential housing. The neighborhoods in Ballantyne range in price from the $150s to well over $1 million and include Ballantyne Country Club, Highgrove, Thornhill, Providence Pointe, Southhampton Commons and many others.
